WWE MONEY IN THE BANK 2011

Results by Matt Boone for WrestleZone.com

WWE Money In The Bank PPV Opener:
The video package airs to open the show. From there we shoot live in the arena, pyro explodes and Michael Cole welcomes us to tonight's pay-per view event: Money In The Bank 2011. Live from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois. Cole is joined by Booker T and Jerry Lawler on commentary. We're going to kick things off with the SmackDown Money In The Bank ladder match.

SmackDown Money In The Bank Ladder Match
Sin Cara, Wade Barrett, Justin Gabriel, Sheamus, Cody Rhodes, Heath Slater, Daniel Bryan and Kane come out (in that order) to kick this pay-per view off with the SmackDown Money In The Bank ladder match. All the guys battle as soon as the bell rings. When the smoke clears, it's Kane, Wade Barrett and Sheamus left in the ring. Kane double-clotheslines them both over the top and then grabs a ladder. Lots of early dropkicks into the ladder before Slater ultimately ends up bringing the ladder into the ring. Gabriel ends up on the ladder but Daniel Bryan dropkicks him off. Rhodes sets the ladder up and begins his climb. Sheamus pulls him down. Several guys do over-the-top dive spots onto the floor, culminating with Sin Cara coming off the top and landing on Sheamus on the floor. We get replays of all those spots. Crowd in Chi-Town is hot so far tonight. Sin Cara and Daniel Bryan do a huge flip spot off the top rope. Crowd dug that. Barrett sets up a ladder-bridge, draping the ladder across the spanish announce table and the ring apron. Sheamus powerbombs Sin Cara through the bridge-ladder. Ouch! Crowd pops big for that spot. Replays, announcers with somber voices, EMTs/paramedics are out, etc. The action resumes on the other side of the ring with Sheamus knocking everyone down with a ladder. Sin Cara is shown being stretchered to the back. The second of two random "CM Punk" chants breaks out during this match. Chicago is going to love him later tonight! Barrett tells Slater and Gabriel to let him climb up and win. They do at first, but eventually pull him down and beat him up, before throwing him out to the floor and arguing with each other as to who's going to climb and win. Rhodes hits the Cross-Rhodes on Slater. Now he's starting his climb. Barrett is in to stop him, and he does. Rhodes now hits Cross-Rhodes on Barrett. He starts to climb again. Now Sheamus is in to stop him. And he does. Sheamus now begins his climb. Daniel Bryan is in to stop him. Sheamus holds Bryan up and Kane comes off the top with a clothesline, Legion Of Doom style. Sheamus wedges a ladder between the ring ropes and another ladder that is set up long-ways. Kane chokeslams Rhodes. Kane chokeslams Gabriel. Kane and Bryan fight on the ladder. Bryan knocks Kane out of the ring. Slater and Bryan are on the ladder. They both come crashing down to the mat, hard. Crowd is way into this match so far. Sheamus hits his big kick finisher on several guys, leaving everyone laying. There's ladders set up everywhere now, as Sheamus lays a ladder sideways across the top rope in one of the corners. Sheamus and Kane battle on top of the ladder. Kane chokeslams Sheamus onto the bridge ladder set-up. Ouch. Big-time ouch. Let me say that one more time. OUCH! Everyone is ganging up on Kane in the ring now. Barrett hits the Waste-land on Kane. Gabriel hits a 450 splash off the ladder that was laying sideways across the top rope. Jesus that was crazy. Everyone is hitting their finisher. Feels like we're coming towards the finish of this one. Barrett, Bryan and Rhodes are all on top of one ladder. Rhodes is knocked off. Bryan and Barrett are fighting. Barrett is going for Waste-land off the top of the ladder. Bryan is fighting out of it. Bryan kicks Barrett off the ladder. Bryan is going up for the briefcase and the crowd is hot. Bryan gets it and he wins! Wow!

Winner: Daniel Bryan

Backstage: Vince McMahon Arrives!
Outside, we see Vince McMahon arriving in a limo "earlier tonight." He's with executive V.P. Johnny Ace, as well as a WWE attorney. They walk to the building as Vince has a big cheesey smile on his face. Michael Cole says he understands they are all in a meeting with CM Punk right now.

Divas Championship: Brie Bella vs. Kelly Kelly
Brie Bella, accompanied by twin-sister Nikki, comes to the ring for the Divas Championship match, which is up now! Kelly Kelly is out next with Eve Torres. Kelly-Brie is on now. Kelly in control early on. Kelly with a big double-clothesline diva onto both Bella Twins on the floor. Brie knocks Kelly to the floor and is now comfortably in control of the offense in the ring. Kelly Kelly is fighting back now, screaching loudly as she does so. Crowd isn't into this at all, to the surprise of nobody. Kelly hits her finisher out of the blue for the clean pin. Yawn.

Winner and STILL Divas Champion: Kelly Kelly

-A commercial airs for SummerSlam 2011.

Big Show vs. Mark Henry
Henry is out first, followed by Big Show. Lots of big guy spots early on, with Big Show having the upper-hand thus far. They fight to the floor and Henry finally gets in some offense, working on the knee of Big Show. Back in the ring, Henry continues the attack on Show's leg. Slow-paced match so far, as you'd probably expect. Henry has Show in a leg-submission hold. Show finally gets to the ropes to break the hold. Big Show comes off the second rope with a shoulder block onto Henry. Big Show immediately grabs the knee Henry has been working on upon landing. Big Show calling for the chokeslam now as Henry works his way to his feet. Henry blocks it nails Big Show with the World's Strongest Slam. Henry tries a pin attempt but Big Show kicks out at two. Henry picks Show up and again nails him with a second World's Strongest Slam. He follows that up with two big splashes. Another pin attempt and he gets a clean 1-2-3 for a boring finish.

Winner: Mark Henry

After The Match: The Attack Continues
After the match, Henry goes to the floor and grabs a chair. He comes back in the ring with the chair as Show is still laid out. Henry opens the metal folding chair up and places Big Show's leg inside of it. Henry climbs to the middle rope backwards and hits the Vader-splash onto the chair with Show's leg inside it. Show freaks out like his leg is broken. The EMTs attend to Big Show. A stretcher is brought out. For the second time in three matches it looks like someone is going to be stretchered out. Show can be overheard saying, "I'm serious, I think he broke my foot." Another random "CM Punk" chant breaks out as Show is taken to the back.

Backstage: Josh Matthews Interviews Vince McMahon
Backstage we see Vince McMahon talking to Johnny Ace. Josh Matthews comes in and asks McMahon if he re-signed CM Punk. McMahon says "no" as he has a look of disappointment on his face. He says for the record, Punk is the biggest ingrate he's ever dealt with in his life. He says he offered Punk the best contract he's ever offered anyone and Punk turned him down. McMahon tells the Punk fans not to blame him because he did everything he could to re-sign him. Matthews asks what Punk said. McMahon says he pointed to the door and said "get out." McMahon angrily says Punk had the nerve to say that to him. McMahon blames it all on John Cena. McMahon says if CM Punk leaves the building with the title tonight, may god have mercy on John Cena's soul.

Raw Money In The Bank Ladder Match
Alberto Del Rio, Kofi Kingston, Jack Swagger, Evan Bourne, R-Truth, Alex Riley, The Miz and Rey Mysterio all come out (in that order) for our second and final Money In The Bank ladder match tonight. Each guy on the way to the ring grabbed a ladder and brought it inside with them. So the match begins with all eight guys holding a ladder. Coverage of this match continues on page four. Del Rio is first knocked to the floor. When the smoke clears, it's R-Truth and The Miz in the ring with ladders. They battle with the ladders like a sword fight until Swagger comes in and knocks them both out with a ladder. Kingston and Bourne come in now and all three guys are fighting on the ladder. R-Truth is in now, as is Mysterio. Mysterio does a cool leaping spot off a ladder, leaving only Kingston and R-Truth in the ring. Riley comes in and beats up Truth a bit. Truth hits a big flip spot onto the floor on three or four guys. Kingston and Mysterio are up on opposing top ropes and they both launch their bodies to the floor and crash onto several guys. Bourne climbs a super-tall ladder on the floor and hits AirBourne off the ladder onto several guys. Crowd pops huge for that. Replays, etc. Bourne and Miz come off the ladder hard. Miz grabs his leg and flips out as if he's legitimately hurt. For all I know he may be. The refs and EMTs are looking at him on the floor. Looks like they're calling for yet another stretcher. Our third of the evening. The action continues inside the ring as Miz is helped to the back. Several ladders are set up in the ring and several guys are climbing opposing ladders. Everyone is up on a ladder soemwhere in the ring. One-by-one, guys are knocked off their ladders until only Kingston is left. As Kingston goes for the briefcase, Jack Swagger hits the ring and climbs a ladder to stop him. Both guys come crashing off a ladder awkwardly. Ouch. Everyone is down now. The Miz is shown coming back to the ring from the back. He's the only guy with life in him and he's climbing with one leg up the ladder. Mysterio finally stops him. Mysterio hits a flipping powerbomb on Miz off the ladder. Mysterio and Del Rio are now fighting on top of the ladder. Mysterio beats on Del Rio's face with the briefcase while it's still attatched to the ceiling. Mysterio is beat to the point where his mask comes off. Del Rio throws Mysterio's mask outside the ring. Wonder if that was supposed to happen? Del Rio climbs the ladder by himself and is going for the briefcase. He pulls it down and Alberto Del Rio is Mr. Money In The Bank for the Raw side.

Winner: Alberto Del Rio
WWE Money in the Bank 2011 Berto

-A WrestleMania 28 commercial with The Rock vs. John Cena airs.

Backstage: Josh Matthews Interviews Alberto Del Rio
Matthews asks Del Rio how it feels to win Money In The Bank. Del Rio says he won the triple-threat match to become #1 contender anyways, but it doesn't matter because tonight he proved to everyone how great he is and that's why he won Money In The Bank. Del Rio says his destiny to become the new WWE Champion. He walks away on that note...

World Heavyweight Championship: Randy Orton vs. Christian
A video package airs to hype up the World Heavyweight Championship match, which is up next! Christian comes out first, followed by the champion Randy Orton. Our Orton-Christian match is now officially underway! As soon as the bell rings, Christian goes to the floor and throws a chair in the ring. Christian is giving Orton the opportunity to use the chair and get himself disqualified, as the title changes hands on a DQ in this match. Orton throws the chair out of the ring and goes to work on Christian. Christian eventually comes back and dominates a large portion of the action for several minutes. Orton shows a little sign of life but Christian cuts him short and continues his attack. Orton nearly hits the draped-DDT off the middle rope but Christian avoids it and continues the punishing attack on the Viper. Christian with several near pin-attempts, but Orton manages to kick out at two each time. Christian hits the Killswitch on Orton. He immediately tries to pin him but Orton kicks out at 2 1/2. Christian isn't pleased to say the least. Christian goes for a spear on Orton but Christian misses and ends up hitting the ringside post. Orton follows up with a gut-wrench suplex/neckbreaker for a nearfall of his own. Crowd actually bought that as a possible finish. Orton backs up as Christian gets up, seemingly looking for the punt. Irrelevant, however, as Christian gets up and avoids it. Orton hits the draping-DDT off the ropes move on Christian. Orton is pounding the mat now, waiting for Christian to get up. Christian spits in Orton's face. Orton grabs him and is slugging away. Christian seemingly did that to try and get Orton to DQ himself, or so the announcers are explaining. Orton hits Christian with a low-blow and the referee calls for the bell. The winner of the match due to DQ and the new World Heavyweight Champion - Christian. Crowd doesn't like that one.

Winner and NEW World Heavyweight Champion: Christian
WWE Money in the Bank 2011 Orton-1

After The Match: The Attatck Continues
After the match, Orton beats on Christian on the floor. Orton nails Christian with one of the announcer's little TV monitors. Orton has Christian draped across the spanish announce table. Teddy Long is out, trying to stop Orton from doing anything worse. Orton has the psycho-peepers goin'. Orton picks Christian up, both guys standing on the announce table, and then RKO's him. He attempts to RKO him through the table but Christian just bounces off, in hard fashion, and lands on the floor. Kind of unclimatic due to the table not breaking, if you ask me. The idea is Orton has lost his cool and snapped. Orton goes up the ramp to leave but ends up coming back. Orton makes a really weird face, a sadistic smile and some crazy tongue faces. Orton again RKOs Christian on the table and again it doesn't break. Orton lets out a scream and finally walks away.

WWE Championship: John Cena vs. CM Punk
A huge "CM Punk" chant breaks out as Punk's music hits and the crowd EXPLODES. Punk comes out with his mustache cut off and a custom t-shirt. Cena came out to gutteral hatred from the fans in the All State Arena in Chicago, Illinois. Justin Roberts does the pre-match introductions, and we're officially underway. Colt Cabana is sitting in the front row. "You can't wrestle" chants break out, aimed at the WWE Champion John Cena. Cole recalls Vince McMahon screwing Bret Hart out of the WWE title at Survivor Series in reference to CM Punk and tonight. Cena attempts the Attitude Adjustment early, but doesn't get it. Punk reverses into a GTS attempt but Cena manages to escape out of the predicament. This crowd is insanely into CM Punk, and as much as they love Punk, they have passionate hatred towards Cena. Punk claps hands with Colt Cabana and I believe Ace Steel in the front row. Lawler only refers to Punk clapping hands with them as "Punk clapping hands with his fans at ringside." Later on in the match, Cena is selling a leg injury. Punk with several nearfalls late in the match. Out of nowhere, Cena locks in the STF on Punk. After a long battle, Punk finally reaches the ropes to break the hold. The crowd responded big for Punk being able to survive. Punk knocks Cena out with a kick to the head and tries a pin, but Cena again manages to kick out at two. Punk comes off the top rope with a big cross-body. It knocks Cena down, but Cena rolls through, still holding Punk up. Cena attempts the Attitude Adjustment but Punk reverses and almost hits Cena with his own Attitude Adjustment. Cena manages to avoid it, escape and reverse into a second STF attempt. Punk is near the ropes so Cena pulls him to the middle of the ring and re-applies the STF. Punk is close to tapping and the crowd is going ballistic. Punk counters out of it and the crowd erupts big time! Punk has Cena in a submission hold of some kind now as the crowd continues to go animalistic. Cena picks Punk up out of nowhere and hits the Attitude Adjustment. Punk fights his way out of it. Punk hits a huracanrana off the top on Cena. Punk hits a big knee to the face of Cena. Punk hoists Cena up and nails Cena with the GTS. On the way down, however, Cena fell out of the ring. Thus, Punk can't capitalize with a pinfall attempt. Vince McMahon and Johnny Ace come out to a chorus of boo's. Punk spots them on the aisle as he rolls Cena back in the ring. Cena slaps the STF on Punk out of nowhere. McMahon is calling for the bell from the ramp. Cena lets go of the hold and knocks Johnny Ace out as he attempts to make the bell keeper guy ring the bell. Cena stares down McMahon on the aisle. He comes back in the ring and Punk immediately hits the GTS and pins Cena, 1-2-3. New champion.

Winner and NEW WWE Champion: CM Punk

After The Match: Does Punk Leave With The Title?
After the match, McMahon jumps on a headset on commentary. McMahon demands for the music to be cut off. He says via the headset to someone in the back for Alberto Del Rio to get out here right now. McMahon is demanding Del Rio cash in. With that said, out comes Del Rio. Punk immediately knocks Del Rio out to start the match. Punk grabs the belt and runs through the crowd to exit the building. The bell never rang, therefore Del Rio never cashed in the briefcase. The crowd wildly chants "CM Punk" as McMahon looks on in disbelief as Punk celebrates with the crazed fans in Chicago.
