WWE NXT Results - 7/5/2011

-It's time for the seventeenth week of NXT Redemption! There is a recap of some of the season highlights so far, as well as the eliminated rookies. There is then a recap of Derrick Bateman returning with Daniel Bryan last week. The opening titles roll, and commentators Todd Grisham and William Regal welcome us from Tuscon, Arizona.

-Matt Striker and Maryse are in the ring and welcome the remaining rookies to the ring. Darren Young comes out to heat. Titus O'Neil and Hornswoggle get a nice pop. Derrick Bateman and Daniel Bryan get a pop as well. The pros sit on the stage as the remaining rookies line up in the ring.

-The current redemption point standings are: Titus O'Neil with 22, Darren Young with 7, and Derrick Bateman with 0.

Challenge #1: Talk The Talk Challenge

-The WWE Universe will be acting as the judges for who talks the best in this contest. The topic is "Winning NXT."

-Darren Young starts. He says he's gonna keep it real. Last week there were supposed to be two rookies left. He's busted his butt for 17 weeks and they throw a curveball and add Derrick Bateman. He's winning NXT, and he's doing it by a pro, all by himself.

-Titus O'Neil says he understands why Darren Young is upset that they brought a knock-off of Andy Samberg, but he doesn't care. He's dominated the whole competition. In fact, he has so many redemption points, he can make it rain, as he pulls out papers from his tights and throws them up.

-Derrick Bateman says that the Andy Samberg comment was creative. He says that backstage, Titus O'Neil was saying that the Gators (Titus went to UF) are better than the hometown team, which gets boos. He reminds the crowd that Darren Young used to be in the Nexus. He says that Daniel Bryan are the best thing to hit the Internet since kitten videos, and would be best for this global company.

-Darren Young gets booed. Titus O'Neil gets a big pop. Derrick Bateman gets a mixed reaction.

Winner: Titus O'Neil, who wins 3 redemption points.

-This is a rematch from last week, in which Yoshi won after an excellent match. Yoshi looks intense on his way to the ring, as we are reminded of why: Tyson Kidd ripping the leg off of Yoshi's prized action figure. Tyson Kidd makes his way to the ring looking as smug as ever, with the leg of Yoshi's action figure on a necklace.

Match #1: Yoshi Tatsu vs. Tyson Kidd

-Kidd puts his necklace on the turnbuckle and Yoshi hits a double knee attack on Kidd in the corner and hits a number of knees to Kidd's face. Yoshi hits a snapmare and a kick to the back. Kidd gets up and gets several kicks to the side and a spinning heel kick to the face, which knocks Kidd out of the ring. Yoshi follows and starts hitting chest chops on Kidd against the barricade. He rolls Kidd into the ring, and Kidd takes control, kicking Yoshi in the gut, throwing him into the corner, and stomping away. Yoshi gets up and whips Kidd into the other corner, but Kidd jumps over and goes for a school boy, which fails. Kidd goes out to the apron, and Yoshi follows. Yoshi tries to suplex Kidd into the ring, but Kidd fights away and dropkicks Yoshi off the apron onto the steel ring post.

-Kidd is in control, hitting mounted punches on Yoshi. He gets up and kicks Yoshi in the back for a two-count. Kidd applies a surfboard stretch, but Yoshi fights to his feet. Kidd attempts a back suplex, but Yoshi flips over into a splash. Both men get up and run the ropes, but Kidd takes Yoshi down for a quick pin attempt. Kidd chokes Yoshi on the ropes and hits a neckbreaker for a two-count. Kid keeps Yoshi seated with a modified surfboard stretch. Yoshi slowly gets to his feet and whips Kidd, who tries a sunset flip, but Yoshi rolls up and hits a single leg dropkick. Both men are down and the ref begins the count. Both en get up as Yoshi goes back to the chops. He then hits a few kicks to the torso before hitting a back side kick. He hits a snapmare on Kidd and kicks him right in the fact for a two-count. Yoshi then goes to the top turnbuckle, but Kidd runs up to attempt a superplex. Yoshi pushes him off and hits a spinning wheel kick from the top rope for a two-count. Yoshi tries to hit his roundhouse kick, but Kidd dropkicks Yoshi in the shin, gets up and hits his swinging fisherman suplex for the three-count.

Winner: Tyson Kidd

-Kidd then takes his necklace from the turnbuckle and poses.

-A promo package airs for Derrick Bateman. He says that he didn't deserve to be eliminated in his hometown, so it's fair that he gets to come back this late in the competition. He's finally healthy from his MCL tear.

-Hornswoggle is backstage, holding some dead flowers, banana peels, and Twizzlers. Titus says that he needs to let the Maryse thing go. Hornswoggle shrugs him off and walks over to her. Maryse says that he's so sweet. She says that he deserves a kiss and to close his eyes. He closes his eyes and Maryse hits Hornswoggle over the head with the flowers. She yells at him and walks off. Titus says that there are tons of other women out there as Hornswoggle walks off sadly.

Match #2: Daniel Bryan & Derrick Bateman vs. Titus O'Neil & Darren Young

-Bateman and Darren start us off in the ring. They lock up and Darren forces Bateman into the corner. Darren fights out, runs the ropes, and hits a dropkick. Darren rolls out of the ring, Bateman follows, and clotheslines Darren on the outside. Bateman taunts Titus with his own bark. Both men roll back into the ring. Bateman wrenches the arm and tags in Daniel Bryan who drops an axe handle from the top rope. Bryan does the same and tags in Bateman, who does the same axe handle. This time however, Darren takes control with a clothesline and tags in Titus. Titus hits a vertical suplex and chokes Bateman on the ropes. Titus then hits a short-arm clothesline to a big pop. Titus knees Bateman in the gut and tags in Darren Young, who hits a snapmare and applies a side chinlock. Bateman gets to his feet, but Darren hits a clothesline for a two-count. He picks Bateman up and slams him in the corner, tagging Titus. Titus hits elbows in the corner, before bringing him out and hitting a scoop slam. Darren is tagged back in and he stomps Bateman in the corner. Darren charges at Bateman, but Bateman ducks and Titus is hit instead, allowing Bateman to get the hot tag. Bryan hits his spots, his backflip off the top rope, his diving clothesline, and his corner dropkick. He hits his signature suplex, then goes to the top rope and hits a diving headbutt for a two-count. Darren then attempts a back suplex, but Bryan flips out and falls into the corner, which allows Bateman to get the blind tag. Bateman runs in as Bryan takes out Titus on the apron. Darren gets Bateman into a fireman's carry, but Bateman wiggles out and hits Man-Tastic, a snapmare driver, for the three-count.

Winners:: Daniel Bryan & Derrick Bateman

-The rest of the show is a Raw Rebound promo between John Cena and Vince McMahon.

-That's all for this week's NXT Redemption. Thanks for reading.
